Youth Advocacy Committee (KAYAC) KAYAC provides youth living in North Grenville after school, evening, weekend and sports programs through the Youth Centre throughout the course of the year. The centre creates a safe and drug- and alcohol-free environment for the youth. Programs encourage youth to make positive lifestyle choices. |

The Family Way Brockville & Area YMCA Charitable community-based recreation, health, promotion and social service organization serving boys and girls, men and women of all ages. The agency's strength is in children's programming as evident from the 264 children enrolled in their Childcare/Preschool Program, the 450 participants of the Saturday Night "Youth Action" program and the 1276 campers at the Summer Adventure Camps. The "Y" offers partial or full financial assistance to families all across Leeds-Grenville. |

Family & Children's Services This is a service for the protection of children from neglect and physical, sexual and emotional abuse. It also offers family preservation programs, healthy babies programs and the highest quality of substitute parental care, when deemed necessary. Children have an opportunity to attend a summer camp and/or the School Program. In North Leeds, FCS also runs a youth program. |

Programs available include Meals on Wheels, Diners Club, Friendly Visits, Transportation, Foot Care Service, Telephone Reassurance program, Client Intervention, Home Help/Homemaking, Home Maintenance & Repair, and Caregiver Support through the Alzheimer's Outreach Program. |

Kemptville & District Home Support A non-profit volunteer program that strives to provide support services to area seniors and physically disabled adults in pursuit of independent living. Its ongoing programs include Meals on Wheels, Escorted Transportation, Foot Clinic, Friendly Visiting, Telecare, HomeHelp, Handyman, social/recreational and information and referral services. |

Volunteer Bureau of Leeds & Grenville Offers many services, including the Income Tax Program (free income tax preparation for qualifying individuals and families); volunteer counselling, recruitment, training and referrals; and various workshops offered throughout the year. |

The Crisis/Relief Way 1000 Islands Credit Counselling Services Provides financial counselling and crisis relief to clients across Leeds-Grenville with credit problems. Instructs in lifestyle and cash flow management, debt management and reduction plans, and aims to strengthen awareness and education on credit and financial management. |

Canadian Red Cross Society Programs made available to Leeds-Grenville residents: Warm Hand/Warm Hearts (hats, mittens and sweaters provided to children, as well as mom and newborn kits), safety services, disaster services, home healthcare equipment, Link to Health, vision care, Share the Warmth, abuse prevention programming, babysitting, people savers, volunteer resources, life call, and child safe. |

Interval House of Leeds & Grenville LGIH provides services to women and children who are the victims of violence. Shelter, counselling, support, and advocacy are services offered through the following programs: Emergency Shelter, Transitional, Housing and Support Program, Outreach Services, Child Witness Program and Crisis Counselling, Women's Support Group, and a 24-hour crisis line that responds to over 1,000 calls a year. All services are offered across Leeds and Grenville Counties. |

North Grenville Accessible Transportation Provides transportation to those who were previously unable to get out so they can participate more fully in their community. They have been able to: go to church, go shopping, do banking, go to work, attend medical appointments, go to recreational events and visit their families. |

St. John Ambulance - Brockville Offers Leeds-Grenville citizens training in Standard and Emergency First Aid, CPR, Babysitting, Oxygen Administration, 'Life Saver' and 'We Can Help' courses offered throughout the year. The Brigade is on duty at many public events all year long. |

The Health Way Brockville Myalgic Encephalomyelitis
Association Provides support and services to people suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and Fibromyalgia (FM)across Leeds-Grenville, including a monthly newsletter and the "Keep Moving, Keep Mobile" program - an aquatic exercise program designed specifically for sufferers to maximize their muscle flexibility and to increase their stamina. They offer monthly support group meetings and guest speakers provide information on a wide range of topics pertinent to ME/FM. Resources include a variety of books, videos and audiocassettes as well as a list of professionals available to help sufferers of ME/FM. |

Canadian Mental Health Association Promotes mental health through advocacy and public education to improve public attitudes towards mental illness * provides or helps in programs to meet the mental health needs of the community * also provides information and referral * provides transportation services for consumers, housing, library resources, and family mental health support * provides Court Diversion Services to persons with mental illnesses who have experienced minor conflicts with the law * also provides services to young persons aged 10 to 17 years through a drop-in and scheduled activity centre * a proud member of the United Way of Leeds and Grenville. |

CNIB Blind, visually impaired or deaf blind people living in Leeds-Grenville benefited this year from the core services available including Orientation & Mobility, Rehabilitation Teaching, Seniors Community Liaison, Vision Services, Volunteer Services, and Library Services. |

Epilepsy Association This agency aided Leeds-Grenville residents affected by epilepsy by providing counselling, advocacy, educational services, a toll-free phone service for rural clients and educational presentations.

Leeds & Grenville Rehabilitation
and Counselling Services Across Leeds-Grenville, this agency supports severely mentally ill individuals and victims of various forms of abuse through counselling, case management, life skills training, educational, vocational, social and recreational programming. United Way funding helped individuals participate in social, recreational and wellness programs. There are also centres in Kemptville, Elgin, Gananoque and Brockville, where they welcome over 10,000 drop-in clients. |
