United Way Leeds & Grenville want to invite you to participate in the annual Day of Caring on Thursday, June 4 2015, Day of Caring is a Nationally Branded Program aimed at getting area businesses involved in Community Capacity Development by connecting teams of volunteers with agencies who have projects in the area that are in need of being completed.

In the past, area businesses and United Way have made a difference by beautifying a park, transforming a children’s playground into a clean safe play area, school yard maintenance, painting, cleaning, gardening, and carpentry work.  We all have skills and experiences that we can pool together to show our community that we are united in more ways than one.

Our Day of Caring will place teams of employees (roughly 5 individuals per team) from a number of workplaces at various agencies or municipalities to complete community-based projects throughout the region of Leeds & Grenville. The main criteria for project selection will be if the task is achievable within the 6 hour time frame.

Agencies will provide all of the materials needed to complete the project as well as lunch and snacks for volunteers. If there is requirement for specific tools or skill sets, arrangements will be made well in advance.

To take part in this community building project simply complete the participation form and email it to joan.hodge@uwlg.org or by fax at (613) 342-8850 by Friday, May 8, 2015.  If you are interested in participating, but don’t have a team, please email Joan and we will put together a team.
