We're hiring two students through the Canada Summer Jobs/Student Employment Opportunity.  The positions are detailed below. Note: there are two jobs - one with a May start date and one with a July start date.

Summer Student Job Opportunity 2021 - May, 2021 start 

Location: United Way Leeds & Grenville, 42 George Street, Brockville

Job Type:  Canada Summer Jobs/Student Employment Opportunity-Administrative Assistant (Between the age of 15 and 30 at the start of employment)

Start Date:  May 17, 2021 

Work period: 8 weeks (280 hours @ $14.25 per hour)

In this position, you will be providing support to the Director, Resource Development and the Data & Communications Coordinator with the United Way Leeds Grenville.

 Work activities to include:

  •  Work closely with, and providing administrative support, to the United Way Team
  • Assist United Way team with various community initiatives
  • Preparation of a variety of marketing materials
  • Preparation and coordination of donor mailings
  • Assist with the workplace program
  • Preparation and assist with various information sessions, fundraising and workplace events
  • All other duties as required and supported by the members of the United Way team

Skills

  • Excellent customer service/telephone skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Eye for detail and a dedication to quality
  • A team player who can also take initiative when needed
  • Excellent spelling and proofreading skills
  • Background in graphic design considered an asset
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong background in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel

Job Type:  Canada Summer Jobs/Student Employment Opportunity  (Between the age of 15 and 30 at the start of employment)

Start Date:  July 5, 2021

Work period: 8 weeks (280 hours @ $14.25 per hour)

 In this position, you will be providing support to the Director, Resource Development in the recruitment and coordination of volunteers.  Additionally, this position requires the successful candidate to assist in the coordination of numerous fundraising and workplace initiatives.

 Work activities to include:

  • Work closely with, and provide support to, the United Way team
  • Assist in the recruitment and coordination of volunteers for fundraising initiatives as required
  • Preparation for various events and information sessions
  • Assist United Way team with various community initiatives
  • Prepare workplace giving kits and assist with workplace program
  • Assist with a variety of community fundraising and workplace events
  • All other duties as required and supported by the members of the United Way team
