COMMUNITY INVESTMENT STRATEGY
United Way Leeds & Grenville researches and learns about the critical social issues in our community, working collaboratively and collectively with agencies, donors, volunteers, and partners.
Based on this community knowledge, United Way Leeds & Grenville (UWLG) strategically invests in local programs and initiatives that focus on underlying causes to create lasting change, addressing the root causes of issues that impact people in our region.
Additionally, UWLG funds programs that support immediate needs, responding to local issues.
The Community Investment Strategy provides a framework for volunteers and the United Way Board of Directors, helping them with decisions on investment in programs and initiatives to have the maximum impact. It also provides agencies with clarity about the strategy and guidelines that are used to evaluate and assess all funding applications.

Community Impact Focus for allocations:
As we move into 2025, we are carrying the knowledge from our community impact studies to help us make a more intentional impact on the top identified needs in our community. We will continue to accept funding applications that fall under our three pillars. The applications must fit within these pillars and measure successful outcomes that make long term lasting change. This change must fit in the top 6 concerns our community identified during our recent Community Impact Study. The results of our Community Conversations prioritized the following six needs (in no order):
Housing | Homelessness | Food Security |
Children & Youth | Mental Health | Addictions |
